Safety and security is Olympic Airlines' core corporate commitment.

All personnel from the senior management to front line employees are committed to maintain an active Flight Safety Program, integrading all procedures guaranteeing our passengers a smooth and - most of all - safe flight.

Olympic incorporates every measure ordered by the Greek and International legislation and European Union's guidance.

Nevertheless, our safety policy does not just stop at fully complying with rules and regulations:

Aircraft Maintenance

Integrity, quality and reliability of all maintenance work performed on OA's fleet are just three aspects for which OA is ranked among the safest airlines globally.

When it comes to commercial issues, flight safety is the very first thing Olympic takes into consideration, since we devote hours of heavy and detailed maintenance procedures for every flight hour of each aircraft wearing the OA livery.

Olympic Airlines' fleet is supported, in all aspects of Line, Base and Shop Maintenance by Olympic Airways - Services
Technical Operations Department, one of the best-equipped technical facilities in Europe with an awarded and long standing safety record.

On the Ground

Olympic takes every necessary measure in order to prevent any kind of unlawful actions that may occur during flight or on ground. Such measures include numerous security checks on aircraft access, ground staff moving through controlled areas of the airport and apron, as well as checks on luggage, supplies, and cargo to be loaded on board.

Prior to take-off, a detailed technical inspection is carried out by fully trained staff, assuring our passengers that flight safety is more than just a severe corporate procedure: for Olympic, it is a top priority.

When issuing your e-ticket, please advise Terms and Conditions of Carriage and also the "Dangerous Goods" section, as various articles must not be carried in passenger's baggage for safety reasons.

On Board

Continuous training for our in-flight personnel, safety drills and regular aptitude tests are just some of various techniques adopted by OA, in order to offer our passengers the highest flight safety standards.

Our cabin crew will be happy to answer any of your questions regarding safety procedures. Your attention though is required before take off during the safety briefing demonstration. Please read carefully the "Safety on Board" card, which is located in the seat pocket. Since turbulence may occur without a warning, we suggest you keep your seat belt fastened while seated.

In case you are undergoing a special medical treatment or should you feel sick or ill during the flight please do not hesitate to call a flight attendant. Our crew is fully trained on first aid and how to deal with many in-flight heath relevant incidents. Moreover, each OA aircraft is equipped with a first aid medical kit.
